In 2006, a small group of photographers met on a hot summer day in Millennium Park, Chicago. There were 15 of us gathering to shoot the architecture around the park. Back then, our meetup group consisted of 50 members. Rob and I soon took over the meetup because the original organizer, Brad, couldn’t handle the expanding size of the group. We soon grew the group to 100 members and it just kept growing from there.
This year we celebrate a huge milestone – breaking the 8,500 member mark!! We’ve watched our group become the largest photography meetup in the Chicagoland area, as well as a major force in the photography community at large.
We want to thank our members for their active participation in our group and also our team of mighty assistant organizers without whom we could not achieve this amazing success.
Keep up the great support and participation! Let’s grow our group to the 10,000 member mark!!
